Pakistan lifts moratorium on death penalty
“The prime minister has abolished the moratorium on death penalty in terrorism-related cases,” an official from Nawaz's office was quoted as saying by Dawn News.
After a high level meeting of parliamentary parties over the attack, which has been highly condemned by leaders across the globe, Sharif on the same day said there could not be any difference between 'bad and good' Taliban.
"There is no difference between good and bad Taliban," he said.
He said a decision was taken during the meeting to form a parliamentary committee that will chalk out national plan of action in seven days.
Pakistani army and police officials said besides the children, the dead included nine staff members of the school. About 124 others were wounded in the attack for which the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility.
