Pakistan: Key opposition leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tests positive for COVID-19

Islamabad: Pakistan's key opposition leader and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday tested positive for COVID-19.

He confirmed his health condition by posting on social media.

He said he is 'self-isolating' with mild symptoms.

" I have tested positive for #COVIDー19 & am self isolating with mild symptoms. I‘ll continue working from home & will be addressing PPP foundation day via video link. Wear a mask everyone, see you on the other side IA," the Pakistan leader tweeted.

On Tuesday, the PPP Chairman went into self-isolation after his political secretary Jameel Soomro tested positive for coroanvirus, reports Geo News.

Sources told the Pakistani news channel the entire staff of Bilawal House in Karachi has also been directed to undergo COVID-19 tests on the directives issued by former president Asif Ali Zardari.

Pakistan has been witnessing a significant rise in COVID-19 cases in the past couple of weeks.

The country has witnessed 7843 COVID-19 deaths so far.
