Kurram:  Clashes between the protesters and personnel of the law enforcement agencies in Pakistan's Kurram region on Saturday left at least eight people hurt, media reports said.

Officials told Dawn News a mob attacked the offices of the district administration in the town, which is located some 20 kilometres east of Parachinar, the district headquarters of Kurram.

The protesters pelted stones at the offices, forcing the law enforcers to open fire, reported the Pakistan newspaper.

Haji Saifullah, a local elder, told Dawn News the protesters were heading towards the main bazaar when the Frontier Corps personnel started firing to stop them at a checkpost.

A curfew was imposed in Sadda town following the incident.
