Pakistan: 14 killed, 68 injured in twin blasts at Lahore churches
Lahore, Mar 15 (IBNS): At least 14 people were killed and 68 others were hurt as twin blasts rocked the Roman Catholic Church and Christ Church at Lahore's Youhanabad area in Pakistan on Sunday, media reports said.
Huge number of people were present inside both churches on account of Sunday mass.
"Initial reports suggest two suicide bombers carried out the attack," Pakistan's Dawn.com reported.
TTP splinter group Jamatul Ahrar reportedly claimed that responsibility for the attack
Youhanabad houses at least one million people with majority of Christians living in the locality.
"The Christian community in Pakistan has long been the target of attacks and hate crimes carried out by extremist elements," Dawn.com reported.
Following the attack, protests were witnessed across the streets of Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Karachi.
