LeT commander Bilal Arif Sarafi stabbed, shot dead by his own family after Eid prayers in Pakistan

Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Bilal Arif Sarafi was reportedly stabbed and shot dead by his own family members shortly after Eid prayers in Pakistan on Saturday, according to media reports.

The incident is said to have taken place near the Lashkar-e-Taiba headquarters close to Markaz in Muridke, Pakistan.

While the exact motive behind the killing remains unclear, intelligence sources suspect a possible family dispute, as reported by NDTV. Individuals allegedly involved in the attack have been arrested, sources told the channel.

Several unverified videos circulating online show Sarafi lying injured on the ground after being shot.

According to reports, Sarafi had been associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba since 2005. He is believed to have played a significant role in fundraising activities, facilitating the procurement of weapons, and supporting the group’s operations, as per News18.

Pakistan tops Global Terrorism Index as violence escalates

Pakistan has emerged as the world’s most terrorism-affected country, according to the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) 2026 report.

The country recorded 1,139 deaths, 1,045 attacks, 1,595 injuries, and 655 hostages in 2025. With a score of 8.574, Pakistan now ranks highest on the index.

This marks its deadliest year since 2013 and the sixth consecutive year of rising terrorism-related fatalities.

Across South Asia, Pakistan is the only country where the security situation deteriorated in 2025, while other nations in the region recorded improvements.
