Kenya school collapse: 7 children dead

| @indiablooms | Sep 23, 2019, at 05:52 pm

Nairobi, Sept 23 (IBNS): The collapse of a classroom in Kenya's Nairobi city left at least seven school children dead, media reports said.

The wooden structure at Precious Talent Top School collapsed just minutes after the start of the school day on Monday, reported BBC.
Dozens others were injured in the incident.

They have been shifted to hospital for treatment.

"So far we can confirm that we have seven fatalities and 57 others are in hospital," a government spokesman told reporters outside the school in Dagoretti as reported by BBC.

The school's director, Moses Ndirangu, has blamed the collapse on the construction of a nearby sewer pipe which he says may have weakened the foundations of the building, reported the British media.
