ISIS-K still active in Pakistan? Shocking Afghan media claim after killing in Peshawar

An Afghanistan media report is claiming that the ISIS terror group still operates in Pakistan, which Islamabad has repeatedly denied.

According to reports, a senior ISIS-K member was recently killed in Pakistan's Peshawar city, pointing out that the group is still active in the region.

Security sources told TOLOnews that Nusrat, also known as Pahlawan Musa and Abu Zar, one of the key figures in ISIS-K, was killed in Peshawar.

He reportedly played a role in planning attacks in Kabul in 2022 and 2023.

He reportedly led the group’s “Pahlawan” center in Pakistan.

Sarwar Niazi, a military analyst, told Tolo News: "It’s clear that Pakistan has long trained terrorist groups on its soil and sent them to neighbouring countries, especially Afghanistan, to serve its interests."

Zalmay Khalilzad, former U.S. Special Envoy for Afghan Peace, also confirmed on X that a key ISIS-K member was recently killed in Pakistan.

He wrote on X: "Good news from #Pakistan. A key ISlS-K terrorist allegedly responsible for planning major terror attacks in Kabul and surrounding area was killed by unidentified gunmen in Peshawar. #Afghanistan #USA @DCIARatcliffe
@SecWar."
