Imran Khan's PTI decides to halt negotiations with govt

Islamabad, Aug 24 (IBNS) Amid ongoing political turmoil in Pakistan, Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday announced its decision to halt talks with the government appointed panel.

"According to sources, the PTI leadership made the above decision at its meeting here," Geo News reported.

“We won’t take a step back from our demands,” Imran Khan was quoted as saying by Geo News

while addressing the crowd attending the PTI’s ongoing sit-in at the Red Zone here.

Demanding Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's resignation, protesters led by Pakistan's cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and cleric Tahir ul-Qadri  demonstrated in Islamabad's Red Zone since Tuesday.

The Red Zone in Islamabad houses state buildings and foreign embassies.
