Gaza, Aug 28 (IBNS): At least three Palestinian officers were killed as suicide bombers attacked two police checkpoints in Gaza strip, media reports said.

Suicide bombers thought to be aligned with the Islamic State (IS) group have attacked two police checkpoints in Gaza, killing three Palestinian officers, security sources told BBC.

One of the bombers who carried out Tuesday's attacks had previously been held, a security source told the British media.

A state of emergency has been declared.

In the first bombing, two police officers were killed and a third Palestinian wounded.

The bomb was set off from a motorcycle which was located close to a police checkpoint.

The second explosion, less than an hour later, killed another officer and wounded several people at a separate checkpoint, Hamas's interior ministry said as reported by BBC.
