Jailed ex-Pakistani PM Imran Khan's wife Reham Khan has joined the political race in the South Asian country by launching her own party.

She unveiled the logo of her Pakistan Republic Party while addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club.

While addressing the press, Reham, a former journalist, said she wanted to fight for legal reforms that would directly benefit citizens, specially women and farmers.

"The whole of Pakistan is my constituency," she was quoted as saying by Geo News.

Reham said her political journey was a national mission to restore hope, dignity, and representation for the people of Pakistan.

She said her political outfit would replace the dynastic politics in Pakistan.

“Currently, only five families are sitting in the assemblies,” she said.

Reham Khan married Imran Khan in 2014.

They divorced just 10 months later in 2015.

As a journalist, Reham Khan started her career in 2006 hosting shows on Legal TV.

In 2007, Reham began presenting for Sunshine Radio Hereford and Worcester.

In 2008, Khan joined the BBC as a weather presenter.

She also worked in several media houses in Pakistan.
