Cyclone Mora moving towards Bangladesh

Dhaka, May 29 (IBNS): Cyclone Mora has developed into a severe cyclonic storm, making Bangladesh authorities to upgrade danger signal to 10 for two maritime ports in the country.

In a special bulletin, Bangladesh weather office has issued cyclone warning great danger signal No. 10, for the ports of in Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar.

Danger signal No. 8 has been issued for Mongla and Payra.

As per the bulletin,the cyclone is currently centred at 385km south of Chittagong port and 305km from Cox’s Bazar port.

Dhaka remained cloudy on Monday.

According to the IMD website: "The system is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during next 12 hours. It is very likely to move north-northeastwards and cross Bangladesh coast between longitude 91.0ºE and 92.0ºE near Chittagong around 30th May 2017 forenoon."

The IMD website said : "Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely over Assam & Meghalaya. Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh."
