A Pakistani-origin British woman was found dead in a house in Pakistan’s Lahore city, reported Dawn. The victim, Maya, 25, had come to Pakistan two months back to attend a marriage of her relative and been staying in the country since.

Lahore Police launched an investigation into the case. Sayyed Ali, the superintendent of police, informed that the victim was shot in the head. A forensic team was rushed to the rented apartment, where she had been staying, soon after an unidentified caller alerted them about murder, police told local reporters.

He said the deceased woman’s friend was living in her adjoining room at the upper portion of the house and the police were taking her help to resolve apparently a blind murder case.

“We have seized the mobile phone for forensic analysis,” the SP was quoted as saying by Dawn. the victim’s parents were also contacted to get some details.

“We are also after two suspects and will share further details at a later stage,” the police said, adding Maya’s friend who was living at the same rented house shared no useful detail.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office is also in touch with local authorities as the woman was a UK citizen.
