Islamabad/IBNS: A blast was reported at a mosque in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad on Friday, media reports said.

The explosion occurred at the Khadijatul Kubra mosque in southeastern Islamabad during Friday prayers, according to Al Jazeera. Rescue teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident.

NDTV reported that at least five people were killed after a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the main entrance gate of the Shia place of worship.

However, a separate report by Hindustan Times claimed the death toll could be as high as 10. Authorities have not yet issued an official confirmation of casualties.
