Bangladesh: Militant killed in Dhaka

Dhaka, Sept 3 (IBNS): Bangladesh police killed a militant during a raid in capital Dhaka on Friday, media reports said.

He has been identified as Murad alias Jahangir Alam alias Omar.

He was reportedly the person who provided gave arms training to the Holey Artisan and Sholakia attackers.

“Murad was the military commander of Neo JMB and he trained the Gulshan and Sholakia attackers,”  Monirul Islam, chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.

Officer-in-Charge Syed Shahid Alam, OC (Investigation) Md Shaheen Fakir and Sub-Inspector Mominur Rahman of Rupnagar Police Station have been injured during the raid.
