Kabul, Jan 30 (IBNS): Security forces killed a militant after their patrol came under attack in southern Kandahar province of Afghanistan on Friday, media reports said on Saturday.

Another militant was injured in the attack.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives were on a patrol when two motorcyclists opened fire at them using pistols at around 11am, injuring one intelligence official, Kandahar police spokesman Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News.

As the attackers tried to flee, the NDS personnel shot one attacker dead and injured another in retaliatory fire, he told the Afghan news agency, adding two Russian made pistols and a motorbike were recovered from the rebels.
