45 killed as rain and storm hits Pakistan

Islamabad, Apr 27 (IBNS) Windstorm coupled with heavy rains has collapsed structures and other incidents which has left 45 people dead in different parts of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province,media reports said on Monday.

"Gail wind and heavy downpour caused ceilings of a number of clay houses and walls to collapse, and trees and poles to fall in Noshehra, Akbarpura and other areas located in the outskirts of Peshawar.

Similar incidents were also reported in Charsadda road, Badho Sumar Bagh and Badhni areas," Geo News reported.

The injured people have been rushed to hospitals in the province for treatment.

Director General (DG) Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR)  Asim Bajwa tweeted:"In wake of Psr rain/storm,rescue teams despatched to affected areas to assist civ admin.CMH put on alert,Drs present to treat the injured."
