Writers are important in shaping an actor's career: Akshay Kumar

What made you to do this film?

I just heard the script for exactly three minutes. When I heard Good Newz's script, I immediately said yes. I really liked the script. I liked the idea behind the film and it could be so funny. The film is based on real incidents.

What is good news to you?

I search for good news in bad news as well. I am a very positive kind of a person. So whatever I get in life, I will make something good out of it.

What has been the role of writers in shaping up your career?

They have a very big role. I think writers are the most important people. Even I feel they are even more important than directors. Actors will have no use if they don't get good writers and scripts. They are the most important part of a film.

You have done a music video recently and that too for the first time in your career. Why did it take so long and will the audience see you in music videos again?

Actually I liked the song. I felt like doing and I just went to do it. I have done around 700 songs in about 140 films so far in my career. I didn't do the music video just to add one more to the list but because I felt like doing it.

As the discussions are going on about pay-parity, do you make sure that your female co-stars get equal remuneration?

I am doing films with Dharma (Dharma Productions) a lot as well as other corporates. The production houses finalis everything and I am very glad that the female co-actors are equally paid.
