Ranveer Singh to be honoured with Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar Award

Mumbai, Apr 22 (IBNS) After having swept all the major award functions last year for his brave performance in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and earning accolades for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, now actor Ranveer Singh will be honored with the prestigious ‘Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar Award.

To honor the timeless legacy of Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar, music legend Lata Mangeshkar and her siblings organize a unique recognition for artistes who have created great impact.

She said, “Ranveer is a very good actor and seems to be a very positive human being. He spreads happiness wherever he goes. We are happy to give this annual award, named after our father, to Ranveer.”

Since Ranveer Singh is away shooting for Aditya Chopra’s upcoming film ‘Befikre’ in Paris, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali whom he also considers as his mentor has graciously agreed to receive the award on his behalf.

Despite a crazy and hectic schedule and with luminaries like Lata Mangeshkar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali part of the ceremony, the actor is trying his best to squeeze out time and be part of the event virtually.

Ranveer Singh also happens to be one of the youngest recipients of the prestigious award and is currently in Paris shooting for Aditya Chopra’s ‘Befikre’ for a four-month long schedule.
