‘Now who is the joke on?’: Deepika Padukone roasts trolls questioning her ‘silence’ over Dhurandhar 2 success
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone hit back at trolls with a sharp response after being questioned over her “silence” on the success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, starring her husband Ranveer Singh.
What’s the matter?
Online users had called out Deepika for not publicly appreciating or posting about Ranveer’s performance in Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which has been widely praised by audiences.
As several celebrities lauded the film, netizens speculated over Deepika’s lack of any visible social media acknowledgement of her husband’s work.
How did Deepika react?
An Instagram page titled culturecircle shared a reel questioning Deepika Padukone’s silence on the film, pointing out that she skipped the premiere and attended a concert instead.
The page asked viewers whether her silence was a subtle statement against the director or simply an attempt to avoid online drama.
The post read, “No posts, no praise, just silence. Is she making a statement against the director or just dodging the internet’s favourite drama?”
Responding sharply to the March 23 post, Deepika wrote, “The latter, my friend… P.S. I watched it way before any of you did… Now who is the joke on?”

About Dhurandhar: The Revenge
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the nearly four-hour-long film delivers a darker, more intense narrative, blending high-octane action with political drama.
Released on March 19, the film features Ranveer Singh as a powerful figure who takes control of Pakistan’s Lyari town following the death of gangster Rehman Dakait, portrayed by Akshaye Khanna.
The trailer also hints at Singh playing dual roles—Jaskirat Singh Rangi and Hamza—adding layers to the narrative.
