Mumbai/IBNS: As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to dominate the box office, actor R. Madhavan, who plays the role of Intelligence Bureau director in the film, quietly attended a screening at a packed theatre.

Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi captured Madhavan sitting among the audience and shared the picture on social media. He captioned the post: "ISI can make whatever plans they want to. Just let them know, Ajay Sanyal has his eyes on them all the time! Such a fun time catching..."

Rathi added that he missed seeing Arjun Rampal alongside Madhavan at the screening.

Madhavan’s Role in Dhurandhar

In Dhurandhar and its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Madhavan plays Ajay Sanyal, a high-ranking Indian security official inspired by India’s real-life National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval.

Madhavan portrays a veteran national security strategist, involved in high-level intelligence planning and national defense decisions.

In the first Dhurandhar, his screen time was limited, but his presence set the strategic tone for India’s response to escalating threats.

In Dhurandhar: The Revenge, his role expands, serving as a mentor and guide, training and advising the protagonist, played by Ranveer Singh, in espionage and intelligence operations.

About Dhurandhar: The Revenge

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the nearly four-hour-long film delivers a darker, more intense narrative with higher stakes, blending high-octane action with political drama.

The film features Singh as a powerful figure taking control of Pakistan’s Lyari town following the death of gangster Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna. The trailer hints at Singh portraying dual roles—Jaskirat Singh Rangi and Hamza—adding a layered narrative to the story.

Released on March 19, 2026, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has so far crossed the ₹1,400 crore mark worldwide, maintaining a strong box office run. The spy action thriller also stars Sara Arjun in a lead role.
