Kolkata: Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri faces protest in JU over his film screening

Kolkata, May 6 (IBNS) Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri ‏ said he was hurt and his car was damaged while he faced protests at the prestigious Jadavpur University campus here on Friday.

Agnihotri visited the campus for the screening of his upcoming movie 'Buddha in a Traffic Jam'.

"Mayhem at Jadavpur Univ due to a small film. Broke my shoulder. But screened the film. Victory of FoE," the filmmaker tweeted.

"Attack me. Break my car. How will you break my spirit? #BuddhaAtJU," he said.

Agnihotri earlier in the day tweeted images where his car was seen surrounded by protesters.

He tweeted: "Massive protest against me and the film. They are breaking the car apart. Help needed."

Vivek Agnihotri made his directorial debut with Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets and followed it with Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal and the erotic thriller Hate Story.

Buddha in a Traffic Jam, a new age political drama is his next scheduled release on May 13.
