I have not said anything that I should apologise for: Shahrukh Khan

While promoting his film Dilwale at a city hotel along with Kajol, the King Khan said: “I have not said anything that I should apologise for. I will fall in my own eyes if I do that because I have not said anything that I should explain in so many words."

"I can’t deny the fact that I have been reading messages on social media and even on ground there have been activities all round the country where perhaps the film has been stopped and not allowed the way it should have been released. To me being an actor of this country for the past twenty five years, I have got love from each and every corner of the country and the only way I could return it is through my work,” he told a press conference.

He  said, “It saddens me when any of my work can’t reach out to the people as I do it once or twice a year. To be very honest I don’t know how often I can say because many of the things which I say are misinterpreted sometimes. I am not in a stage or age to clarify my stand, I would tell those people who really want to watch my film to go out and watch Dilwale without getting misled.”

Actor Shah Rukh Khan had earlier said there was "growing intolerance" in the country, to which BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya had said that the actor lived in India but his "soul was in Pakistan".

He later retracted his statement but had added that had there been intolerance in India, Khan would not have been so popular an actor. He also refused to apologise for his remarks.
