I dig deeper than gold: Sushmita Sen shuts down trolls aimed at her relationship with Lalit Modi
Former Miss Universe and actor Sushmita Sen has been trending on social media for the last several days after her relationship with ex-Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman and a fugitive, Lalit Modi, was made public by the latter.
Eversince the news broke, Sen was trolled by a section of netizens who questioned her relationship with Modi.
Some of the trolls had also termed Sen a "gold digger" linking her relationship with the "wealth" of the first IPL chairman.
Responding to the trolls for the first time, Sen Sunday shared a long post on her Instagram profile with much sarcasm.
She wrote, "The so called intellectuals with their idiosyncrasies….the ignorant with their cheap & at times funny gossip The friends I never had & the acquaintances I’ve never met….all sharing their grand opinions & deep knowledge of my life & character…monetising the ‘Gold Digger’ all the way!!! Ah these geniuses!!!

Modi last Thursday took the internet by storm, sharing a few vacation pictures with Sen calling her his "better-half".

When all were speculative of their marriage, Modi came out with a clarification tweet where he committed to having just a relationship with Sen.

Though Sen is yet to publicly acknowledge the relationship, she shared a cryptic Instagram post which reads, "I am in a happy place!!!NOT MARRIED…NO RINGS…Unconditionally surrounded by love!!
