Deepika's insticts hitting Bulls-Eye

Mumbai, Jan 29 (IBNS): Actress Deepika Padukone has got the knack of choosing the right films. Going by her releases in the last two-three years, one can surely say that she is on a winning streak. It all started from Race 2 in 2013 and all her subsequent films be it Cocktail, Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Piku and Bajirao Mastani have been huge box-office hits.
Finding Fanny, which was made on a small budget also won her acclaim.

Deepika shared the secret by saying, “I always choose films by instinct, but it’s also about how excited I am as an actor to be a part of a film’s journey and tell this story. My choices are never driven by anything else but that. I look at the film, see how important the story is and hope that the audience will also feel that same excitement when they watch the film. Like when they watched Piku.”

She adds that when the film was being made, people were asking her, ‘What is this film that she was doing?’

“Shoojit Sircar and constipation… Was I sure? I should be doing a bigger commercial film… etc. I couldn’t understand this constant advice. Even when we were shooting, there wasn’t much buzz about it. Nobody knew where we were, what we were shooting, what we were doing… It was not one of those films which had constant buzz and excitement from beginning. Not that we made any major announcements either, but there are some films which are potential blockbusters at the announcement level. Piku came quietly and maybe that’s why it did so well. I am very proud to be a part of this kind of cinema,” Deepika said.

Piku was a box-office success, it won Deepika several awards as the Best Actress for her performance in the film. So now you know her secret of picking the right films.
Deepika is all set to make her Hollywood opposite Vin Diesel in the next installment of 'XXX'.
