Daler Mehndi performs at Prabhat Pheri in Maharashtra
Mumbai, Nov 7 (IBNS): Indian King of Pop Daler Mehndi was a part of the world’s biggest Prabhat Pheri on the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti at Ulhasnagar in Maharashtra.
The Prabhat Pheri, an early morning procession, began from the Ulhasnagar gurudwara and moved into different localities which had the singer voice shabads (hymns) that praise the Almighty.
The event saw a massive turn out of fans, who came out in support of their beloved artist as he performed right in front of their eyes. A crowd of more than 3,00,000 enthusiastic disciples of the lord went in a joyful uproar when they saw their favourite musician showering them with flowers from a pedestal.
A very excited Daler Mehndi who was feeling highly motivated from the aura around him mounted a helicopter for an aerial view of the historic phenomenon.
The highly acclaimed artist was at his best dressed in a beige colored sherwani and a yellow turban, resembling the likes of a Maharaja. He was upbeat and in his element as he kept chanting verses from the Guru Granth Sahib and immersed the audience in devotion with his melodious voice. He sang Rajan Ke Raja, from his latest ‘Best Of Gurbani’ album, authored by the Tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The Gurbani sung by him moved the crowd so much that they sang along with him.
The ceremony concluded with the performance of a Kirtan that went on till post midnight.
