Bollywood wishes Sonali Bendre speedy recovery

Mumbai, July 4 (IBns): Several Bollywood actors were left shocked as they came to know about the news that Sonali Bendre is suffering from cancer and took to social media to wish her speedy recovery.

Actor Arjun Kapoor tweeted: "Fight that bastard Sonali don’t let it win !!!."

Divya Dutta, who has worked in several Bollywood movies, said: " Dearest dearest one, remember you always with a girl wit so much strength n will power!!!! Loads of prayers fr you!!! Get well real soon !!!! Big big hug."

Filmmaker Karan Johar posted: "Godspeed ,love and strength to a true fighter and a solid soul!!!."

Actor Aftab Shivdasani wished: " Dear Sonali, sending you lots of positivity and prayers for this fight of yours. I Salute your spirit and pray that all goes well.. good willing all will be okay."

Actor Vivek Anand Oberoi tweeted: "You are one of the strongest women I know! I admire &respect how u always stood ur ground in the face of adversity...and won! A WonderWoman who does it all-actor,author,mom,wife! An inspiration 2so many!Cancer will surely lose this fight! Our Love & Prayers are with u always!."

Actress Neha Dhupia said: "This too shall pass ... you are an incredible woman with immense strength ... we send you all our love.... things are only going to get better . @iamsonalibendre."

Sonali Bendre makes her cancer revelation on social media:

Sonali Bendre took to Twitter on Wednesday to announce that she has been diagnosed with “high-grade cancer”.

According to her statement, she is undergoing treatment in New York.

The 43-year-old Bendre posted a picture of her and her husband-film producer Goldie Behl, accompanied by a long caption that tells how she got aware of the disease, the treatment she is undergoing and the support she is receiving from her family and friends.

"Sometimes when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with high-grade cancer, that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming," she tweeted.

"A niggling pain led to some tests which led to this unexpected diagnosis."

"My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them. There is no better way to tackle this than to take swift and immediate action," Bendre tweeted.

"I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way... I am tackling this battle head-on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me," the actor said.

Known for her soothing beauty, Bendre received critical acclaim for her performances in Diljale in 1996, followed by Bhai (1997), Sarfarosh, Zakhm, Duplicate, Kadhalar Dhinam (Tamil film), Hum Saath-Saath Hain: We Stand United (1999), Tera Mera Saath Rahen (2001) and Anahat (2003) among others.
