Alia Bhatt's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' gets new release date, to hit big screens on Feb 25

Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt starrer Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial upcoming Hindi film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is set to be released on Feb 25.

The release date has been shifted a number of times due to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown.

The movie is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' about Gangubai Kathiawadi, a brothel owner and matriarch.

The film marks the first collaboration between the ace director and Bhatt.

It is produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada under their respective banners Bhansali Productions and Pen India Limited.

'Gangubai Kathiawadi' has been chosen to be screened as part of Berlinale Special, a segment of the film festival which is dedicated to showcase exemplary cinema.
