Mumbai, May 12 (IBNS) Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar, 2 States has turned out to be one of the highest grossing films in 2014.

The Alia Bhatt-Arjun Kapoor starrer family entertainer has reportedly surpassed the Rs 100-crore mark in the domestic market.

"Despite several new releases including Hollywood flick, The Amazing Spider Man, 2 States held its position strong at the box office in its third week and has maintained the pace in the fourth running week," said an official release.

"With such terrific response garnered for the love story adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s famed novel of the same name, the filmmakers are extremely happy with the response," it said.

Sajid says, “Firstly Highway had such a tremendous response. The critics and the audience appreciated it. And now with 2 States, I am very emotional right now. I am happy that the entire nation has loved the film.”

Meanwhile, the filmmaker is all geared up to launch Jackie Shroff’s son Tiger shroff in Heropanti that hits the marquee on May 23. Post which, his first directorial venture Kick will be releasing on Eid.
