Zakir Naik speeches are being examined : Rajnath Singh
New Delhi, Jul 8 (IBNS) : Amid the high controversy surrounding Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said the speeches of the Mumbai-based scholar are being examined.
Reports quoted Singh as saying that Naik's speeches, which reportedly influenced two of the Dhaka cafe terrorists into going for a carnage, were being reviewed on CDs by top investigating officers.
"We will not compromise on terrorism at any cost," he said.
On Thursday, the Maharashtra government had also ordered a probe into the speeches delivered by Zakir Naik and promised strict action if he's found guilty.
Naik, a televangelist, has been in Medina on a religious trip since seven young gunmen opened fire inside a a Dhaka cafe and butchered 22 hostages, most of them foreigners.
The Bangladesh government has alleged that Naik's speeches inspired two of the attackers, and that the preacher had been named by them in recent posts on social media.
