Zakir Naik says he won't return to India this year
Mumbai, July 15 (IBNS): Islamic preacher Zakir Naik on Friday said he will not return to India this year.
Speaking to mediaperson here via Skype, Naik said he is not "running away" but intends to spend most of this year abroad.
He rejected allegations that his sermons inspired terror activities.
Naik said suicide bombings targeting innocent people are condemnable.
"I did not inspire any terrorist," Naik said.
Naik said he 'knowingly' never met any militant.
He, who is currently in Medina, said his statements made on terrorism and suicide bombing was 'doctored and tampered'.
Amid facing heat over charges that he inspired some of the Dhaka cafe attackers which killed 22 people earlier this month, Naik addressed the press conference on Friday.
Bangladesh on Sunday banned his channel Peace TV after the MIB took it down two days ago.
Though his involvement in the attack has not been established yet, his speeches are believed to have incited at least two attackers.
