Uri: Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena calls PM Modi, condemns attack

New Delhi, Sept 20 (IBNS): Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena called Prime Minister Narendra Modi to condole the loss of lives in the Uri terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.


"President @MaithripalaS called PM @narendramodi to condole the terror attack in Uri, Jammu & Kashmir," PMO India tweeted.

"President @MaithripalaS strongly condemned the cross-border terrorist attack and offered condolences to the families of the victims," it said.

PMO India further said: "The leaders spoke of the need for sustained cooperation among countries of the region to end the scourge of terrorism in the region."

The terror attack in Uri on Sunday left 18 soldiers martyred.
