ULFA(I)-NSCN(K) plan to attack security forces in NE: IB

Guwahati, Oct 14 (IBNS): Paresh Baruah led United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent) and NSCN(K) have jointly planned a series of attack on security forces and to abduct two BJP MLA's of Assam, an Intelligence Bureau alert claimed.

The Intelligence Bureau has alerted the state governments of North East Indian states including Assam and said that, the outfit group close with NSCN(K) planned to attack on security forces.

The IB also submitted a report to Union Home ministry on Oct 10.

A top official of IB said that, ULFA(I) and NSCN(K) have jointly planned to attack on security personnel along bordering areas of Manipur-Myanmar, Arunachal Pradesh-China, Meghalaya-Bangladesh, Tripura-Bangladesh, Assam-Bhutan and Assam-Bangladesh.

The report also said that the militants planned to abduct two BJP MLA’s, three IPS officials and four businessmen from Assam.

“We have sounded high alert across the state following the IB inputs and launched intensive operation against the militants,” Assam police ADGP Pallav Bhattacharya said.

The IB report also revealed that, the IB had tracked conversation between ULFA(I) and Bangladeshi militants.
