Two policemen killed in Kashmir militant attack

Srinagar, Nov 25 (IBNS): Two policemen were killed while another was critically injured after their party came under attack by suspected militants in Kulgam area of South Kashmir on Friday, police said.

According to reports, heavily armed militants appeared in main market of Kulgam and fired indiscriminately at the Indian Reserve Police Party (IRP),  a wing of Jammu Kashmir police resulting in instant death of two policemen while another was seriously injured.

Soon after the attack the area was cordoned off by the security forces to nab the attackers.

Earlier, two militants and an army jawan were killed in a fierce gunfight in North Kashmir's Naidkhai area with security forces.

During a joint operation by forces, one local LeT militant was arrested in Sopore area of North Kashmir.
