Terrorism is a threat to both India and Canada: Modi

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IBNS): After meeting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on Friday said  terrorism is a threat to both India and Canada.

He said those who challenge India's territorial integrity will not be tolerated. 

"It is important that we work together to fight terrorism," Modi said in a joint statement with Trudeau.

"Those who challenge our sovereignty and territorial integrity cannot be tolerated," he said.

Speaking further, Modi said: "There should be no place for those who misuse religion for political goals."

During the crucial visit and meet of Trudeau with the PM, India and Canada have signed six pacts.

Modi earlier tweeted that he was   looking forward to meet his Canadian counterpart.

"I look forward to meeting PM @JustinTrudeau tomorrow and holding talks on further strengthening India-Canada relations in all spheres. I appreciate his deep commitment to ties between our two countries," Modi tweeted.

Trudeau, who is on a week-long visit to India, will stay till February 23.

Apart from diplomatic talks, Trudeau had visited Taj Mahal, Sabarmati Ashram, Golden Temple during his stay in India.

Trudeau has meet several Chief Ministers of the country and Bollywood stars during his stay in India so far.
