Tamil Nadu government allows movie ticket hike
However, film lovers in the state missed their date with 11 movies on Friday whose release were deferred as the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council launched an indefinite strike to protest double taxation – 10% local body tax imposed by the state government in addition to GST, reports said.
The strike was spearheaded by movie producers, distributors and exhibitors.
The media quoting the TN Film Producers’ Council, said that over 1,000 movie halls across Tamil Nadu remained shut on Friday as part of the agitation.
