Supreme Court asks Shahabuddin to reply on plea for cancellation of his bail

New Delhi, Sept 19 (IBNS) : The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Mohammed Shahabuddin, asking him to reply on a plea seeking cancellation of his bail granted by the Patna High Court, reports said.

Gopal Singh, standing counsel for Bihar, sought a stay on the High Court order and issuance of a non-bailable warrant against Shahabuddin, who was released on September seven.

On September 17, the Bihar government and Chandrakeshwar Prasad, whose three sons were allegedly murdered by Shahabuddin, moved the apex cour against the HC granting him bail.

Shahabuddin is accused in the murder of a witness in the 2004 killing of two brothers in Siwan.
