Second green revolution will take place in Uttar Pradesh : Narendra Modi
Gorakhpur, July 22 (IBNS) : In the run up to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday visited Gorakhpur, making promise for a second green revolution in the state and laying foundation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
"“Second green revolution is going to happen in eastern India - eastern UP,” he said while reopening a sick after 26 years.
The PM said, “It would be wrong to say that work of a factory which was closed for 26 years has been started because of me. If you had not voted for us then this work which was pending since 26 years, still would have been pending.”
Referring to the divide between western and eastern parts of India in terms of development, he said, “If we have to develop India, the chariot of development needs to run on two wheels- Eastern and Western India.”
“We decided to give farmers as much urea as they want, but will try to work on shut down factories also,” he added.
Modi also laid the foundation of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and said the new institute will ensure that quality medical facilities reach people of the area.
Earlier, he had visited Gorakhnath Temple, where he offered prayers and unveiled the statue of Mahant Avaidyanath in the temple.
