Sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR region banned

New Delhi, Nov 25 (BNS): In a major development, the Supreme Court on Friday banned the sale of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR region.

The court also banned new issuance of  licence to sell crackers in the region.

The apex court also suspended licenses that have been issued in the area.

An apex court bench compising  of Chief Justice of India T.S. Thakur and Justices AK Sikri and S.A. Bobde, passed the order.

Three infants of Delhi had filed the petition through their parents.

Delhi faced massive pollution problem after Diwali.
