RSS defamation case: Rahul Gandhi to appear before Assam local court

Guwahati, Sept 22 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will appear before a local court in Assam on Sept 29 in connection with a defamation case filed by RSS.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) spokesperson Apurba Bhattacharya on Thursday confirmed it and said that, the Congress Vice President will appear before Kamrup Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on Sept 29.

Earlier, the court summoned Rahul Gandhi to appear before court in connection with the defamation case filed by RSS.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that the RSS members had stopped his entry into Barpeta Satra (16th century monastery) during his visit to Assam in December last year.

For the remarks of Rahul Gandhi, RSS, the ideological mentor of ruling BJP had filed a defamation case against Rahul.
