Rahul Gandhi remembers father Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IBNS): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday remembered his father and former Indian PM Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

Rahul Gandhi's official Twitter page wrote," Remembering Rajivji on his birth anniversary.His vision and his values continue to guide &inspire us."

"I also remember today the most imp lesson my father taught me-that there is much more strength in tolerance,love &compassion than in hatred," Rahul Gandhi said.

Rajiv Gandhi, who had joined politics after her mother Indira Gandhi's assassination, had served as Prime Minister of India from 1984 to 1989.

He was assassinated by the LTTE on May 21, 1991 at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

Rajiv Gandhi was born on Aug 20, 1944.
