‘Coffee and tea don’t go well together’: Annamalai’s remark resurfaces amid AIADMK–TVK buzz
Chennai/IBNS: The buzz over a possible tie-up between the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam–Bharatiya Janata Party alliance and actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has triggered fresh political speculation, with indications that such a move could create cracks within the NDA, media reports said.
Annamalai rules out alliance
Senior BJP leader K. Annamalai had earlier ruled out any tie-up with TVK, citing sharp ideological differences.
“I have said many times that coffee and tea do not go well together. We are polar opposites ideologically,” he had told Times Now Digital.
AIADMK may explore post-poll options
Reports suggest that the AIADMK, led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami, may reach out to TVK in a post-poll scenario if no party secures a simple majority.
Exit polls throw up mixed projections
The NDTV–Axis My India survey projects TVK winning 98–120 seats in the 234-member Assembly—a remarkable debut for a first-time contender.
The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam-led alliance is estimated to secure 92–110 seats, while the AIADMK-led bloc could be reduced to 22–23 seats.
However, other agencies present a contrasting picture. Peoples Pulse gives the DMK alliance a clear edge, while some surveys place TVK in the third position.
Tamil Nadu emerges as most volatile battleground
With widely varying projections, Tamil Nadu has emerged as one of the most unpredictable states in this election cycle, with Vijay positioned as the X-factor who could potentially reshape the state’s political landscape.
