Prez, VP congratulate ISRO on successful launch of GSLV-F05

New Delhi, Sept 8 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee has congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on the successful launch of the tenth flight of India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle GSLV-F05, carrying an advanced weather satellite 'INSAT -3DR'.

In a message to A.S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman of ISRO, the President has said, “I extend my heartiest congratulations and best wishes to you and your entire team at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on the successful launch of the tenth flight of India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle GSLV-F05, carrying an advanced weather satellite ‘INSAT -3DR’."

"This launch has demonstrated, yet again, India’s increasing space capabilities. I understand this is the first operational flight of GSLV carrying an indigenously developed Cryogenic Upper Stage (CUS). This will help study weather patterns as well as support surface-level search and rescue operations," said he.

"Please convey my greetings to all members of your team of scientists, engineers, technologists and others associated with this mission," Mukherjee added.

Vice President of India M. Hamid Ansari has also congratulated the ISRO on the successful launch of GSLV-F05.

In a message he said that the flawless launch has once again demonstrated India’s capabilities in the space sector.
