President of India’s message on the eve of National Day of Malaysia

New Delhi, Aug 30 (IBNS): President of India Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Malaysia on the eve of their National Day (August 31, 2016).

In a message to His Majesty Almu’tasimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong XIV, the President has said, “On behalf of Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with great pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Majesty, Your Majesty’s Government and to people of Malaysia on the occasion of your National Day.

Over the past many years, bilateral relations between India and Malaysia, marked by our traditional friendship and cooperation, have developed into a multi-faceted, mutually beneficial partnership. Close people-to-people contacts and our convergence on major regional and global issues have been a cornerstone of our close relations. Bilateral trade and investment flows continue to be enhanced and we are breaking new ground in our defence and security cooperation.

We look forward to working with you to further strengthen our strategic partnership and realise the full potential of our relationship.”
