New Delhi, Oct 27 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted the Indian Army on the occasion of Infantry Day.

"Greetings to all infantrymen on Infantry Day. We are proud of our infantry’s exceptional courage & dedicated service to our nation," the Prime Minister's tweet read.

Hailing the infantrymen's courage, he said, "I bow to all infantry martyrs, who devoted their lives to the nation. Their heroic sacrifices will be remembered for generations to come."

The Indian Army celebrates Infantry day on Oct 27 as on this day in 1947 infantry men made sacrifices fighting raiders in Jammu And Kashmir.
