Parasailing mishap: Man falls from parachute, dies in Coimbatore

Coimbatore, Aug 7 (IBNS): A man, who was parasailing, died after falling from parachute in Coimbatore on Sunday, media reports said.

The victim has been identified as Malleswara Rao.

According to reports, he is a resident of KTVR Residency, Peelamedu.

The mishap occurred during an event conducted by Coimbatore Medical College (CMC) and Indian Aero Sports and Science Club.

It was a part of a golden jubilee celebrations of the medical college.

According to reports, the person was taken to a nearby hospital.

He was declared brought dead.

"Hospital sources said that he suffered fractures on his head, hip, knee, chest and internal bleeding after falling down from a height of about 65-feet," The Hindu reported.
