Pakistan flags hoisted in Srinagar to mark Pak National Day
Srinagar, Mar 23 (IBNS): Some member of Asiya Andrabi-led separatist outfit Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) hoisted Pakistani flags at several places in Srinagar on Wednesday to commemorate the neighbouring country's National Day, said reports.
Some workers of DeM hoisted the Pakistani flags even at Civil Lines and Lal Chowk.
The flags were later removed by the police.
Earlier in the day, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people Pakistan on their National Day.
President Mukherjee said, "Greetings to Government and people of Pakistan on their National Day."
The President said that he is hopeful of a friendly tie between the neighbouring nation.
"I am of the firm conviction that India-Pakistan cooperation will lead to progress and prosperity in our region," he said.
He also reiterated India's cooperative stance on Pakistan by saying. "India remains committed to peaceful, friendly and cooperative relations with Pakistan."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Greetings to the people of Pakistan on their National Day."
