Nitish Kumar mourns Kanpur train mishap, cancels govt function

Patna, Nov 20 (IBNS): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday mourned the loss of lives in the Indore-Patna Express train derailment incident near Kanpur city in Uttar Pradesh.

He also cancelled all government functions related to the completion of one year in office.

In a tweet, Kumar said that all kinds of functions related to the completion of his government's one year in office stays cancelled.

At least 100 people have died and nearly 200 injured after 14 coaches of the Patna-Indore Express jumped tracks close to Kanpur city in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday early morning, officials said.

The incident took place around 3 am close to Kanpur city at a place called Pukhrayan.

The cause of the accident is yet to be identified.
