NIA raids 12 places in Jammu and Kashmir over terror funding case
The raids were carried out by the NIA in Srinagar, Baramulla and Handwara.
Among the 12 places, two were the premises of an advocate Mohammed Shafi Reshi and three relatives of businessman Zahoor Watali.
Alok Mittal, inspector general of NIA, was quoted by Hindustan Times as saying: "We suspect financial links between the separatists and those raided on Wednesday."
The National Security Agency had earlier arrested seven separatists on terror financing charges.
Among the seven are Syed Ali Shah Geelani's son-in-law Altaf Shah, and three key aides, Ayaz Akbar, Me'raj Kalwal and Bashir Ahmad Bhat.
The NIA claimed that it has evidence that seven Hurriyat Conference separatists used money got through hawala from Pakistan to pay people to burn schools and throw stones during protests in the Kashmir Valley.
