New Delhi: JNU student found dead in hostel room

New Delhi, Oct 26 (IBNS): A student was found dead at the hostel in Delhi's prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University on Tuesday, police said on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Phd student  J.R. Philemon.

He is a native of Senapti district in Manipur, reports said.

According to reports, he was not seen for the past three days.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ishwar Singh was quoted as saying by The Hindu: "The students informed the university staff who alerted us. We broke open the door in the presence of the students and staff and found Philemon’s decomposed body in the room."

Singh said no suicide note has been found in the hostel room.
