New Delhi hosts 'Beating the Retreat' ceremony

New Delhi, Jan 29 (IBNS): The colourful  'Beating the Retreat' ceremony was held in New Delhi on Monday.

Band played cheerful tunes, coupled with foot-tapping music to add to the mood of the moment as India witnessed a colourful ceremony at the   Vijay Chowk here.


Bands from the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the State Police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF)  participated int he event.

The ceremony is held every year on Jan 29.

It marks the culmination of the Republic Day celebration.

Republic Day was celebrated across the nation on Friday.
